Ohh I see... So this is how thermal expansion works in life, thank you for sharing the video and it is really useful as it explains on thermal expansion clearly ~
syafiqah S2T1 the temperature of the liquid will increase, thus the kinetic energy also increases. causing the gas molecules to collide among them and the container
Both answer are correct..when T increases, its gain kinetic energy of container(solid) & liquid will cause some expansion in their dimension..in other words expansion occurs for both CONTAINER & LIQUID๐๐
Fazrin s2t1 First, by calculate the volume of container and volume of liquid. The liquid will overflow if the volume of liquid is more than volume of container.
Sachini S3T5 Calculate both volumes for liquid and the container and compare the values obtained.if volume of liquid is greater than container after expansion, liquid flows out of the container and vice versa.
hanis S2T1 calculate the volume for liquid and for container, if the volume of liquid more than volume of container, so the liquid will flow out from the container. is it also depends on temperature madam?
Linear expansion occurs because the thickness of the thin sheet of copper is too small to calculate when change in length of the sheet can be observed and calculated.
Good try kevin(Tan)..exactly natasya๐คฉ๐..'thin sheet'means in 2 dimension(thin-do not consider thickness).if the thin sheet was heated,so it expanded in 2 dimension(2x linear expansion).therefore area expansion was occurs๐
A copper wire (end 1=,T130°C and end 2,T2)is attach to aluminium wire(end 1 T2 and end 2,T3=80°C).if the insulated wires reach steady states, calculate the temperature at boundary between two wires?
๐What is the keyword ๐? becomes 1st step of calculation
Natasya S2T1 The keyword is the question ask us to calculate the temperature when the wire reach steady states,so when the wire reach steady states, we know that the rate of heat flow for both rods is the same.

If a container is fill with a liquid then we heated them. what will happen?
ReplyDeleteSachini S3T5
DeleteBoth the container and the liquid will expand.
syafiqah S2T1
Deletethe temperature of the liquid will increase, thus the kinetic energy also increases. causing the gas molecules to collide among them and the container

DeleteTemperature increases-Kinetic energy increases-Volume increases
DeleteVolume expansion occurs
Everyone..now,lets think..????how we can know either the liquid will flows out of container or not?
ReplyDeleteFazrin s2t1
ReplyDeleteFirst, by calculate the volume of container and volume of liquid. The liquid will overflow if the volume of liquid is more than volume of container.
Sachini S3T5
ReplyDeleteCalculate both volumes for liquid and the container and compare the values obtained.if volume of liquid is greater than container after expansion, liquid flows out of the container and vice versa.
hanis S2T1
ReplyDeletecalculate the volume for liquid and for container, if the volume of liquid more than volume of container, so the liquid will flow out from the container. is it also depends on temperature madam?
all of you are talking about volume for both objects, right?initial volume or final volume?
ReplyDeleteFazrin S2T1
DeleteFinal volume madam.
๐๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐คฉ๐
DeleteHow to determine amount of overflows?
ReplyDeleteSachini S3T5
DeleteCalculate the final expansion in volume of the container and also the liquid. Then minus both to obtain the amount of overflow.
๐๐ฏ๐คฉperfect!!!
DeleteIf a thin sheet of copper was heated, what type of expansion occurs?
ReplyDeleteTan S2T1
DeleteLinear expansion occurs because the thickness of the thin sheet of copper is too small to calculate when change in length of the sheet can be observed and calculated.
Natasya S2T1
DeleteArea expansion occurs because the area of the sheet of copper can be calculated.
Good try kevin(Tan)..exactly natasya๐คฉ๐..'thin sheet'means in 2 dimension(thin-do not consider thickness).if the thin sheet was heated,so it expanded in 2 dimension(2x linear expansion).therefore area expansion was occurs๐

ReplyDeleteIf a thin wire is heated, what type of expansion has occurs?
ReplyDeleteFazrin S2T1
DeleteLinear expansion occur because thin wire is in one dimension. When it is heated, it will elongate in one dimention.
Very good fazrin๐๐ฏ๐..just consider length of the wire,so the length elongated when it is heated..linear expansion occurs

very good natasha.exactly, so (dQ/dt)cu=(dQ/dt)Al........1st step
